The U.S. military said on Tuesday that an air strike targeting an al Shabaabcamp had killed more 100 militants.

In a statement, U.S. Africa Command said the strike had been carried out 125 miles (201 km) northwest of the capital, Mogadishu and that the U.S. would continue to target militants.

The strike was carried out in coordination with Somalia’s federal government.

The US military has in recent months upped the tempo of its operations in Somalia, conducting a growing number of drone strikes against Shabaab and other jihadists.

On November 13, the Pentagon said US forces had killed 40 Shabaab and Islamic State fighters in a series of Somalia strikes over several days.
